It's time to answer the question that all first-time job applicants are perplexed by: "Everyone is looking for experience but how do I get experience if no one will hire me? Actually there are several options for those of you searching for some real world experience to beef up your resume. Don't box yourself in and consider only paid forms of work experience. There are many unpaid positions that pay for themselves in the experiences and training they offer.

Work experience makes you more desirable as a potential employee and gives you a greater understanding of your chosen field. You will learn more about what work in that field is really like, not just what the text books and stereotypes say. Having a short experience in the field will give you a chance to step back and evaluate if this is really the direction you want the rest of your life to go.
