So you want to start your career right after high school.  Your performance in the classroom impacted you alone while at work your performance will impact the organization as a whole, your bosses, and your co-workers. The transition from high school to work isn't easy but it isn't an impossible task.

Job searching for high school graduates is an interesting experience. You are going to have to illustrate to a potential employer that while you don't have a degree you can make up for this with your other qualities. You need to know how to develop these qualities and differentiate yourself in a very crowded job market.

  • Career Search - So what's the first step in your career. First of all you need to figure out what you you want to do. You need to really evaluate what you like to do, what qualifications you have in these areas, and what future career goals you have.

  • Résumés - You need to know how to set yourself apart from the crowd when applying for a job. Your resume can often-times do this for you. Learn how to write a good resume that will set you apart from the stack.

  • Real World Experience - You're just getting out of high school. Your future employer sees you coming in the door with nothing but your high school diploma in hand. Oh boy, this is not good. Without a degree your #1 asset to have behind you is experience. Experience often counts more than a degree. You need to look at ways to gain practical experience related to your chosen career.
