process differently, so be sure to read the directions carefully. You
can now apply to college via computer, web, fax, diskette, and paper.

Computer-Based
Applications
Using computer-based applications you only have to enter
your application information once, no matter how many colleges you apply to.
Next
Stop College: This service, run by the College Board, allows you to
apply online to more than 350 colleges and universities for free.
College
Applications Online: This
downloadable software allows you to apply to more than 1,000 different
institutions. But they do charge a processing fee.
College Web Sites - Many colleges offer
applications on their web sites. Some colleges suggest printing out the
application and snail mailing it back to the admissions office while others
allow you to submit them electronically. Go to our American Colleges page for a

Paper - If you prefer the tried and
true old
fashioned paper application. You can write or call the colleges' admission
offices to request one. You can find admission offices' phone numbers in the
literature you receive in the mail or on their website.
