The Advanced Placement Program (AP) is a
program designed by the same people that created the SAT. AP classes gives you
the chance to try college-level work while still in high school. If you get a
"qualifying" grade on the AP Exam, many colleges will give you actual
college credit in recognition of your achievement.
There are 33 different AP courses available in 19 different subjects. These
courses are usually much more demanding than your normal high school work. You
will be forced to adopt study habits similar to those you will need in college
in order to succeed in an AP class.
