The State Environmental Protection Administration of China (SEPA)

The State Environmental Protection Administration of China is a ministerial-level authority directly under the State council in charge of environmental protection in China.

The SEPA has established 10 departments as its internal functional institutions:

　

1) Administrative Office (Department of Education and Communications)

2) Department of Planning and Finance-

Formulate the national planning of environmental protection.

3) Department of Policies, Laws and Regulations

Organize the work related to administrative penalties, review and litigation.

Organize the examination of the enforcement of the national environmental laws and regulations.

4) Department of Human Resources and Institutional Affairs

Organize the administrative rewarding of the environmental performance and to guide the reform and regulation of the administrative management system of the national environmental system.
