HALLUCINOGENS

[ Pictures ]

Hallucinogens cause hallucinations in their users. Hence their collective name: hallucinogens

They are also called: psychedelics, psychotropics, psychotogens.

When taken, they cause or provoke in their users: changes of sensation; distortions of perception; illusions, delusions and hallucinations. In their result, they create: fantasies or dream images, when the LSD experience is "good"; living nightmares, horrible and terrible, when the LSD turns "bad."

The results vary, therefore. They can be a "good trip" or a "bad trip," depending upon: the dosage of the drug (mild or strong), the user's mood (ugly or calm) and personality (social or anti-social), atmosphere in which the drug is taken (hostile or cordial).

Whether "good" or "bad," what happens is: reality melts away before the mind, the user enters a daydreamy, other- reality world.

Thus hallucinogens are known as: mind-alterers, mind- benders.

Marijuana is also a hallucinogen. That is, it also has hallucinogenic properties.
