The Jin Mao building in Shanghai, China is the fourth tallest building in the world. It never held the title for tallest building.

Each segment of the JinMao Tower is 1/8 smaller than the 16-story base. The design is similar to
that of ancient Chinese Pagodas, stepping back to create a "rhythmic pattern as it rises". JinMao's landscaped
courtyard has a reflecting pool and sitting area.
