The Nahuelito has a long swan-like neck, with a wider humped body. It is between 15 to 150 feet long and 15 to 20 in diameter. Some reports have said that it has fins. Nahuelito is said to surface only in the summer, when the wind is still. Witnesses say that a sudden swell of water and a shooting spray before it surfaces. Many feel that this may be a prehistoric plesiosaur.
It inhabits Nahuel Huapi Lake in Argentina. It lies at the foot of the Patagonian mountains and covers 318 square miles.
Sightings have been reported since the 1890s. A large number of citizens feel that this is a product of nuclear testing since the 1950s. Others think that it is a prehistoric dinosaur.
Nahuelito T-shirts and posters can be seen in many resorts and it is not surprising to see video clips of the Nahuelito on the television.
