Fafrotskies
These are things that are alleged to fall from the skies. They have been recorded since the first civilization with written records, the Sumerian. Anything that fell from the sky were believed to be the gifts of gods. Water is suspended in the air before falling as rain. The idea of fishes or any other things suspending seems incredible.
Stones, whether meteorites or not, have fallen from nowhere in the most famous circumstances. On 27 October 1973, three stones, of ever larger size, fell into the lake in front of two fishermen. They looked around to see who had thrown them, but found no one. Soon, pebbles rained on them. They got into a car and tried to flee. But, more stones rained on them and even on their way home.
Stones fell indoors too. Two witness saw stones fell at their feet when they were with a friend in a closed ten (the material lacks holes). Scientists said that ‘freak winds’ caused it, but did not explain how the wind collected the stones or why deposit the things only around on person.
On 20 July 1851, blood and pieces of what seems to be beef fell from the sky in the middle of a routine parade at the Benicia army base in San Francisco, USA.
On 1 August 1869, two acres of the farm owned by Mr. J. Hudson, California, was showered with blood, hair and pieces of meat. Some of them are 6 inches long! That day was clear and windless.
This weird phenomenon was still going in 1968. On 27 August, blood and flesh fell from the sky for about five minutes. It fell on an area about 1000 yards square between the towns of Cacapava and Sao Jose Campos in Brazil.
When lumps of ice fall onto the Earth, it is usually blamed on faulty aircraft de-icing equipment and airborne lavatories. But a study done by atmospheric physicist James McDonald show that only two out of thirty selected ice falls in the 1950s could be blamed on aircraft.
Many unbelievable ice falls have been recorded. Some of them are reported before airplanes were invented. But, some of the ice are so huge that it would be impossible for the planes to transport them. For example, in 1802, a big piece of ice measuring 18 feet tall fell on Hungary.
On 25 April 1989, a volleyball-sized piece of ice crashed through the roofs of a house in USA. The ice was milky-white and smelled slightly of sulphur. There are other reports of the ice smelling of sulphur and some are positively hot when they first appear.
In Belgrade, in the month of August 1989, a 70 kilogram of blue-green ice fell from a cloudless sky.
