Brief Description:
Sulphur is another common element, found in volcanically active or geothermal areas. Foul-smelling (reminiscent of rotting eggs), sulphur is a crumbly, pale yellow solid in its most common form. Jupiter's moon, Io, most likely owes its various hues to several types of sulphur, as it can come in many different colors.
