![]() HistoryAlthough the term "vegan" started in the United Kingdom in 1944 with the formation of the Vegan Society, the practice of not eating animal products actually began long ago. As written about in Religious Reasons for Veganism there are various religion reasons to become vegan. They have been practiced for thousands of years. There are many verses from the bible also proving that veganism has been around for a long time, even since the beginning of time. Although now days, the majority of people do not practice veganism, we are seeing an increasing vegetarian/vegan trend in the past century. More and more people are realizing the effects of consuming animal products and are many are changing their diets. Vegan 2000 has been titled "Lifestyle of the Millennium" as we expect to see an increasing awareness for the advantages of veganism in the years to come. As more and more people become vegans, the vegan lifestyle will get easier to live. Organic produce and natural foods will prevail, restaurants will offer vegan selections, and it won't be uncommon to see vegan foods at social events. The price difference between vegan and non-vegan foods will be reduced. | ||||
