Graphing Trigonometric Functions

Definitions:

Amplitude - Height of Graph

Period - Length of Function till it begins repeating

Phase Shift - Graph is shifted so far left or right

Vertical Shift - Graph is shifted up or down

3 * sin 2(x + pi/2) -2

Amplitude is what the whole equation is multiplied by, in this case 3

Period you take 2pi/ (number before the parenthesis) so the answer is pi

Phase Shift is pi/2 to the left if it were negative it would be pi/2 to the right

Vertical Shift is 2 units down if it were positive it would be 2 units up.
