     1.) Maintaining safe drinking water (water treatment) 

          Sewage Treatment-treating waste so it can be reintroduces to th 

          environment safely

                  c.) Industrial Microbiology  

                         1.) Food and Beverage Technology-many of our foods                                and drinks are products of microbe activity                           2.) Pharmaceutical-production of drugs (antibiotics)                                 mostly come from fungi

                           3.) Genetic Engineering-taking genes and using them to                                   produce human products
