MIXTURES - A Little More Detail!

 

 

There are more types of mixtures namely emulsions, foams and gels.

Emulsion: this is a substance that has droplets of one liquid dispersed in 

                 another. For example, oil in water or visa-versa, and light sensitive 

                 coating of photographic film. 

 

Foam: this is a substance that contains bubbles of gas dispersed in a liquid or 

            solid. For example, shaving cream and expanded polystyrene.

 

Gel: this is a substance in which a solid is arranged in a liquid as a fine network.

        For example, jelly and hair gel.
