Particle Arrangement Movement of Particles

Solid

      > Close Together.

      > Regular Pattern.

    > Vibration about a

        fixed point.

Liquid

  > Quite close together.

  > No regular pattern.

  > Free to move in all       directions.

  >  Move quite quickly.

Gas

  > Far apart.

  > No regular pattern.

   (randomly scattered)

 > Free Movement.

 > Move very fast.

KINETIC THEORY OF MATTER:  All particles have kinetic energy and are thus in constant motion. However, every state of matter has a different amount of kinetic energy.

Consequently, gas particles have more kinetic energy and move faster than    liquids or solids.
