ATOMS, MOLECULES & IONS
Particles are the building blocks of all matter. There are three types:
The Atom
This is the simplest particle in existence. Generally atoms do not exist on their own, but in groups, combinations, or with other particle types (see below). Thus we get the element, which can exist on its own as a single substance.
