During the Baroque period, architecture went through a few changes.  Things that had appeared in the Renaissance were still seen, such as, columns, cornices, pediments, moldings, and pillars, however they were combined in new ways .  The architects from this era believed in the unification of the visual arts, like painting, sculpture, architecture, garden design, and urban planning, thus their buildings and structures had a sense of drama and power.
