This site is a part of a collection many educational sites created by high-school students, competing in the ThinkQuest Internet Challenge. The purpose of the site is to inform students and other visitors of the important field of Artificial Intelligence, or AI. This field is generally considered a part of Computer Science; however it is somewhat interdisciplinary, touching upon a variety of areas such as robotics, psychology, neurobiology, logic, philosophy, and others. The majority of non-specialists do not know that products of AI research have already influenced the information age in practical ways. Still, the current applications of AI pale in comparison to what is to come, as discussed in the essay we wrote, "The Rise of AI". In addition, we have organized more information on various aspect of the AI field in lessons, plus links and suggested readings. We sincerely hope that we will help educate students about the real potential of AI research, apart from the most familiar application in video games ;-) .
