|
PAST
The history of microbiology is quite lengthy, starting form the first notion
of it's existence around 55 BC to present where microbiology is a prime
factor in everyone's lives. The past is what we build up our knowledge of
microbiology now, our understanding of it has come a long way, from it's
discovery by Leeuwenhoek to the overthrough in the belief of spontaneous
life, and it goes on. Also prominent milestones in the history of
microbiology is the development of vaccination and antibiotics, and the
study of viruses.
PRESENT
The present circumstance for the field of microbiology stands very
promising and holding great potential. The ability to manipulate DNA for
specified benefits has dawned, and many have embraced this technology
ardently. From specialized tailored medication, to cloning, to livestock and
crop modification, microbiology stands very promising, scientifically and
economically.
FUTURE
The future of microbiology is poised to revolutionize science, economy and
life. The promise of manipulating and cloning chemicals, hopes for cheaper
and more effective medication. Also other developments are synthesis of
proteins and DNA, and applied genetic modifications in agricultural life
forms to yield more profitable resources.
