1 4in. x 4in magazine cover
1 straw
1 pin
Scissors
-Or-
The windmill from the windmill experiment (skip to step 5).
Pot of boiling water and a lid for the pot (be careful, steam can burn)
Fold the paper in half, then in half again. Unfold.
Cut the folds about two inches towards the center with the scissors. Do not cut all the way through!
Moving in a clockwise direction, take the corner of the first triangle and bring it to the center. Hold it there with your finger. Do this for the other three triangles.
Put the pin through the center of the windmill. Now insert the pin through the tip of the straw.
Take the pot of boiling water, and put the lid on it. Wait until a steady stream of steam flows out of a crack.
Put the windmill over the stream of steam. The blades turn. The spinning blades could be connected to a generator, and the generator could generate electricity.
