NOTE: If you do not have an electrical sensor, place both wires in your mouth. The salty sensation is the electrical current. (This is safe because of the low amount of voltage generated.)
Styrofoam cup
1/4-cup vinegar
1 tbsp. salt
1 galvanized (zinc) screw
2 pieces of copper wire
Fill cup with vinegar and salt. Mix the solution until most of the salt is absorbed. Set aside. Some salt may settle on the bottom of the cup.
Attach the screw to the end of one copper wire.
Place both wires in the vinegar-salt solution. Do not allow the wire and the screw to touch!
Attach the wires to a voltage meter*. To see the change in current, take one wire out, and put it back in.
