The Mongolian Empire was the largest empire land wise in the history of the world. At its largest extent it stretched from the Yellow Sea to the borders of Eastern Europe. They were also known as the most savage empire in history. However their vast empire allowed great trade and commerce and helped connections between people of all different nations.

The Empire first began as a series of nomadic tribeshttp://www.caccp.org/images/ex26p1.gif around the regions of Mongolia, Manchuria and Siberia. These people lived in felt tents called yurts. They raised ponies, sheep, camels, oxen, and goats to make a living. They ate mainly milk and meat from their animals and.

After Genghis Kahn, Otagai, and Kublai Kahn defeated and conquered many lands the empire fell because it was too big to govern. As a result of a corrupt government revolts started springing up all over the empire. The empire then broke up into several different parts after Kublai Kahn, the last emperor died. A large revolt in the 1300's restored Chinese rule under the Ming dynasty.

The Mongols terrorized China for many years which, essentially, was the cause of the building of The Wall. The Wall was only reached 18 times in its history due to the strength of it and the new weapons the Chinese developed. Of those 18 times, it was never taken over.
