Rise and Shine
Map: The Podul Giurgiului Lake and the Moldoveanu Peak (2544m,red dot) After a good, long sleep we start by climbing the small glacial threshold towards the superior pool of Podragu, where small lakes can be seen in certain months of the year, especially in summer.
In about 300m the path splits in two: we take the left (to the east) and after a while a wonderful scenery opens in front of us with the glacial pool and lake called Podul Giurgiului From the Podul Giurgiului Peak we can clearly see the highest peak in Romania, The Moldoveanu Peak, with it's 2544m above sea level, and near it, The Vistea Mare Peak (2537m). Is there a more beautiful site? ... well... actually... from the peak down there should be a more thrilling view.
We now have to be more careful and forget the scenery for a while; we have to cross a short but dangerous side of the Podul Giurgiului Peak. Slowly grabbing whatever rocks might come in handy we should be on a good little old horizontal path in no time.
