The Church of the Cozia Monastery The Church of The Cozia Monastery

    The Cozia Monastery is situated south-west of the Fagaras Mountains. It was founded by Mircea the Old, who's tomb lies inside, between 1386-1418.
    It is a valuable architectural monument, constantly being restored by the rulers of this country - the restoration under Neagoe Basarab in 1517 or under Serban Cantacuzino in 1707 when the paintings where also restored.
