The vegetation and the fauna

     The Fagaras Mountains vegetation types differ as the altitude increases. There are forest and alpine zones, each with different levels.

  1. The Forest Zone
    1. The evergreen oak forests Level (Quercus petroea)
    2. The beech level - Fagus silvatica
    3. The conifer level
  2. The Alpine Zone
    1. The Inferior Alpine Level
    2. The Superior Alpine Level
     The fauna is also very divers. It includes a lot of very spectacular animals, some of them beeing protected species, like the chamoise.
