John Fitzgerald Kennedy

 

          Kennedy, John Fitzgerald (1917-1963) was the thirty- fifth president of the united state. He was born on May 29, 1917 in Brooklyn, Massachusetts. JFK was the second son of his parents. He graduated from Harvard University in 1940, served as an officer in the u.s. navy during WWII. As lieutenant of the pt 109 (motor torpedo boat) he once was shipped wrecked, but he survived & because of his heroism he saved the lives of his crew. JFK was elected to the house of representations in 1946 & to the senate in 1952. In 1956, he & Senator Adlai E. Sterenson ran in the presidential campaign, but they both lost the election. He was reelected as senator of Massachusetts in 1958, while campaigning for presidency in October 1960, Kennedy called Mrs. Coretta Scott King to express his sympathy for her husband, MLK; who in jell for his participation in a mass sit-in in Atlanta Georgia.
In September 1962, Kennedy took a firm stand on enforcing a federal court order to permit James Meredith, a Black student, to register at the University of Mississippi. He also made sure that he was enrolled in the school. Three months later, Kennedy was assassinated on April 4, 1968 In Dallas, Texas.
