George c. Wallace was born in was born in Cli, Alabama in 1919. He attended Alabama University to receive his law degree in 1947. Then he went to the U.S air force to spend three years. In1947, he begin to enter politics, by being elected to the Alabama State legislature while he was there he fought against integration. He was elected as governor of Alabama in 1962. One of the signature events Wallace is remembered for was the university he tried to stop integration in other schools, but altogether he was unsuccessful because of president Kennedy federalizing the Alabama national guard was federalized again in 1965, since Wallace did not provide police protection to the Selma-to-Montgomery marches. Wallace ran for presidency in 1972, but was shot by Arthur brewer, leaving him partially paralyzed. With no success for governor in Alabama in 1982. He retired from politics in 1987. He was remembered as an extreme segregationist, he announced the he did was wrong, and ask for forgiveness from blacks.
