Fred L. Shuttlesworth
Fred L. Shuttlesworth was a civil
rights leader who was born in Mugler, Alabama in 1922. He was the president of (ACMCTR)
Alabama Christian Movement for human rights, and was the secretary for the
(SCLC) Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Shuttlesworth attend Selma
University & Alabama state Teacher College. After that he became pastor for
several Baptist churches Shuttlesworth helped organized many civil right events,
such as the Selma to Montgomery march in 1988, Shuttlesworth establish the
Shuttlesworth housing foundation to help poor families become home owners in
Cincinnati.
