Our Topic

When the team was deciding on a topic for our ThinkQuest entry, we noticed a gap in resources available on the internet: there are very few websites in existence that provide a coherent, well-integrated presentation of replicator theory in evolution to students and interested laypeople. Replicators: Evolutionary Powerhouses is our attempt to fill this gap with an interesting and interactive presentation of replicator theory aimed at students and casual visitors alike.

Our Experiences

Replicators: Evolutionary Powerhouses is the result of an international collaboration that proved to be a great experience for all involved. We all shared a common interest in the topics of biology, genetics, and evolution, and we put that interest to use in the development of the text content, the multimedia, and the interactive demonstrations provided by this website.

The team members also possessed complementary skills and abilities, allowing a rich exchange of ideas between the three of us. Constructive criticism and the free flow of memes allowed us to develop final products that benefited from others' thoughts and suggestions. In this case, three heads really were better than one.

The collaborative aspect of this project was both enjoyable and informative. Through our almost-daily communication, we gained a far deeper understanding of each other's lives and cultures. Despite the fact that the governments of our two countries have not always seen eye-to-eye, we enjoyed a collaboration that was fruitful for all involved.
