People of ISTJ personality are quiet, organized and dutiful. Because of this, they can succeed in almost anything they wish to do. They are good citizens, and are responsible and devoted. They can be trusted with tasks and responsibilities. They are one of the most reliable people. They are sensible and logical, and value facts greatly. They like to be accurate and they usually succeed in doing so.

ISTJs have a great sense of space, function and artistic appreciation. Their tastefully furnished homes show their need of structure, order and beauty.

ISTJs are reserved people. They don’t feel comfortable when they’re not following plans and structures. Sometimes, they tend to get too obsessed to structure that they do everything "by the book", and refuse to be flexible. People of ISTJ personality know a lot of facts, and respects facts greatly. It is not easy for them to accept ideas that are different from their own perspective. If the importance of a certain idea is well explained, an ISTJ might accept the idea, and to him, the idea becomes a fact. Once an ISTJ supports an idea, he usually wouldn’t change his mind.

ISTJs do not naturally understand their own feelings and the feelings or others. They have difficulty expressing their emotions and satisfying their own emotional needs. As perfectionists, they tend to take other people’s effort for granted. They need to learn to pat people on the back once in a while.

ISTJs have excellent ability in organizing, planning and completing tasks. They are hard workers and nothing can possibly get in their way to accomplish their goals. ISTJs are responsible and dutiful. They will always accomplish the task they are given. Because of this, they are often given too much work and other people may take advantage of them.

Under stress, ISTJs can see nothing but all the possibilities of what could go wrong. They criticize themselves of what they have failed to perform and lose their ability to be calm and reasonable. They will then become very depressed.

ISTJs use a lot of energy and time to accomplish their goals, but for things that are unimportant to them, they usually would not mind it at all. ISTJs work best alone, but they can also work well in a groups if it is necessary. They like to be recognized of their contributions in a piece of work and like to control and give commands to others.

In general, ISTJs are filled with potential, effective, hardworking, logical and reasonable individuals, who desire secure and peaceful living. ISTJs has what takes to achieve their goals - whatever they may be.
