INTPs live much of their lives in their own heads. They have a special ability to analyze difficult problems and to explain things in a logical way. They some how have the personal sense of duty to solve theoretical problems and to help the society reach a higher standard.

INTPs are very bright. INTPs can become extremely excited over abstractions and theories. They spend a lot of time finding solutions to problems, generating new theories instead of applying theories or fulfilling existing systems. To others, INTPs seem very distant, because they have little time to share with others.

INTPs are not interested in leading or controlling people. The INTP is likely to be very shy when it comes to meeting new people and very self-confident and gregarious around people they know well, or when discussing theories which they fully understand.

INTPs are usually not in-tune with how people are feeling, and are not naturally well equipped to meet the emotional needs of others. Because an INTPs least developed side is the Feeling side, they may encounter social problems, and find it difficult to give warmth and support in an intimate relationship. They may become overly critical and sarcastic with others. They need to find a place which supports and uses their strongest abilities, or they might become generally negative towards things. Also, INTPs are likely to be weak in performing maintenance-type tasks, such as bill paying and dressing appropriately.

For INTPs, they can understand theories that are not easily understood by other people. They are likely to express what they believe to be truth. Sometimes, an INTP will abandon a project once they have figured out how to do it. In the end, only the INTP understands it and the amazing discovery means nothing to anyone else.

INTPs are intelligent, independent and original. They do not pay much attention to tradition goals such as popularity and security. Their characters are very complex. Many scientific breakthroughs have been made by INTPs.

INTPs can do best when he can work on his theories independently. If the INTP is given an environment that supports his abilities, the INTP can accomplish amazing things. They are the explorers of new thoughts in our society.
