INFPs are extraordinarily caring, peaceful and loving and have simple desires. INFPs have intense feelings for their relationships and their lives. They only express these intense feelings to their closest ones and are very conscious of other people’s feelings. INFPs are slow and cautious to trust other people or to start a new relationship. INFPs are very supportive and loyal to their committed relationships and they have a genuine concern for other people. INFPs treasure relationships with people who understand and accept the INFP’s perspective and values.

INFPs as Lover

INFPs like harmony and warm feelings. If they are not involved in a committed relationship, they will actively search for one or create their own in their minds.

INFPs may expect their mates to have certain qualities that they do not actually posses. When INFPs will find out that their relationship cannot be as perfect as they expected, they will leave their relationship to move to another. Every time they approach an intimate relationship, INFPs will work hard to move their mate up to their expectations. When an INFP has committed to their ideal relationship, the INFP will be very loyal to their mate.

INFP will view sexual intimacy as an opportunity for expressing their deep love and affection. However, INFPs appreciate receiving loving words than intimacy.

Because of the INFP’s great hatred of conflicts, a conflict can foretell doom and gloom for intimate relationships. INFPs need to learn to take criticism objectively instead of personally and facing conflicts avoid larger problems in the future.

INFPs will cherish the mate who respects their personal space. INFPs are unlikely to be over possessive towards their mates, for they will also respect their mate’s privacy.

Although INFPs may be cautious at the beginning of a relationship, they will become loyal, affirmative, warm and loving to their committed relationships, which are likely to be life-long. They take their close relationships seriously, and will strive to make them healthy and happy.

INFPs as Parents INFPs are natural, gentle, warm, flexible and easy-going parents. They take parenting seriously. They enjoy being parents, and will use it as an opportunity to develop their values and to pass their values to on to their children. INFPs do not naturally punish their children, and they are likely to rely on their mate to administer discipline, or they will adapt to their mate’s disciplinary policy. However, if they think that their children has really committed wrong, INFPs will not have problem disciplining them, for they are violating their strong values. INFP parents will treat their children as individuals, giving them room for personal growth and to have a place in the family. INFPs are extremely devoted, protective and supportive parents. If the INFP needs to sacrifice something for the child’s sake, he/she will always do so. An INFP’s child will remember the INFP as a loving, patient, devoted, and flexible parent. INFPs as Friends INFPs can understand other people’s feelings and can get along with different people, but will keep their true selves to their closest friends, with whom they will form lasting friendships. Because of their strong need for harmony, INFPs have difficulty accepting people with strong Judging and Thinking preferences. They generally are more interested in other Feeling types. INFPs are treasured by their friends as genuine, altruistic, deep, caring and original individuals.
