Worship and Customs
Like all religions, Christianity and Judaism each have their own  unique forms of worship and customs. One of the differences between the two can be seen in the practice of circumcision by the Jews and baptism by the Christians. Nevertheless there are many similarities between these two religions who share  a very similar beginning, evidence of this can be seen in various aspects of worship such as prayer.   • Prayer - A way to communicate with God. Christians believe prayer brings them closer to God.
  • Prayer - Like Christian prayer, a way to communicate with God. However, their prayers are more formal.
  • The Church is not the building but the people, it is also where people met to pray and worship.
  • The Synagogue is a place of worship and also used as a community centre. 
  • Baptism - Believed to wash away sins and welcome new comers into the community of believers.
  • Circumcision - Involves removal of the foreskin. Part of the covenant with God.
  • Priest - People authorized to officiate at religious ceremonies. They give sermons and teach the people about God.
  • Rabbi - Leaders of Judaism, who act as teachers rather than mediators between God and man.
  • Bar/Bat Mitzvah - When a Jewish child becomes full member of the religious community.
