Middle Course

River channel

- wider

- deeper

- Volume is bigger

- Gradient is less than upper course

The volume is bigger as there are more tributaries contributing to the volume of the water in the river. Gradient is much smaller in the middle course than the upper course as there are meanders.

River valley

- more open

- Like a u-shape

- Wider river floor

Valley sides are weathered and mass wasting takes place. There is lateral erosion.
