Asia
Asia was explored in two stages. The first was by the ancient and medieval explorers such as Zhang Qian of China and conquerer Alexander the Great, from Greece. Later Vasco da Gama sailed around Africa to reach India in 1497. China was explored by Marco Polo under the patronage of the emperor, Kublai Khan in the 13th century.
