Chernobyl Nuclear Accident

This part of the site is a dedicated case study to one of the worst nuclear disasters ever, occurring in Chernobyl on April 26th 1986. This disaster killed 30 people immediately and because of the high radiation levels from the power plant, over 135,000 people in a 20 mile radius of the power plant had to be evacuated.
