[Demonstration Kitchen] Boiling
Boiling, which is a very prominent cooking method, is usually used for cooking rice and soup especially in a saucepan. This will need more water to enable convection currents to form in the saucepan. The food is covered with water at 100'C so that the heat will be transferred from the water to the food.
Boiled foods usually are immersed in heavy or lighter pastries for longer time than poached foods, and a most heavy pastry will usually go with stewed foods.
Food suitable for boiling: Noodles; rice; potatoes.
Did you know?
In the Chinese society, boiled rice is a staple; but fried-then-boiled rice is more luxurious.
