  • Shanghai sticky rice (Shanghai Tzzi Fan)

    • This yummy snack is actually a bit of cruller and some other fillings wrapped with glutinous rice.


  • Shanghai nian gao

    • The nian gao(a cake you eat during the Chinese New Year) of Shanghai is very different from the other kinds. It is white in colour and is sliced into very thin pieces. After that the pieces can either be fried with other foods or boiled in a soup.

  • Shanghai Vegetable Rice

    • This is actually a bowl of plain rice mixed with chinese white cabbage(bak choy), which has been fried with lard. This makes it very tasty. This rice can be eaten with wine chicken.
