The land in eastern China is very fertile and the climate there is favourable. A lot of vegetables are grown and that is why there are so many vegetarian dishes in eastern China. Seafood such as shrimp, water plants, seaweeds, fish and shellfish can be found in abundance along the long coastline. The many inland lakes and rivers also provide a ready supply of freshwater fish. |
