Art,
in many parts of the world, is considered to be secondary to Science.
The common perception is that Art is not important, as it is not
absolutely essential for survival. However, the ancients clearly
did not think this to be the case, as during their time, art fluorished.
Culture, which included all aspects of art, as well as their traditions,
trends and norms, was their pride, fulfilling their nationalistic
instincts. Thus, stronger countries tried to foster their beliefs
and lifestyles onto weaker vessal states many a time.
Under
this section, we will explore the cultural aspects of the ancient
civilizations and how cultures of the past still exist in the society
of today. Some of the cultural aspects of the past include the building
of cities and pyramids, the making of pottery, the ancient forms
of writing, paintings of the past and so on. We shall now explore
