What is there to do ?

 

Bring your binoculars and cameras and admire the flowers

Spot the animals

Birdwatch

Walks and trails (unlike other Reserves you may walk freely here), including an overnight hut from which spectacular sunsets and sunrises may be seen (viewing sites signposted)

Swim and surf at selected beaches

Fish (excellent angling and diving spots)

Picnic

Braai at Buffels Bay or Bordjiesrif where there are also tidal pools

Sight the whales in winter

Visit the Dias and Da Gama monuments

View the shipwrecks

Visit the restaurant or curio shop at Cape Point

Climb up to the old lighthouse or ride the funicular

 

Opening Times:

 

The Reserve is administered by the National Parks Board and is open EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR. Entry is from 7.00am until 5.00pm in winter, and 7.00am until 6.00pm in summer, with departure before sunset.

Drive with care and keep to the speed limits.

Watch out for tortoises and snakes on the road.
