Welcome to the Cape Point TQ2000 web site.

Cape Point, situated in what was previously the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve now forms part of the Cape Peninsula National Park, and is managed by the South African National Parks.

This site was created for the benefit of South Africans and international visitors to our beautiful country.

Together with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the World Bank and Global Environment Facility, this area will be declared an International Heritage Site.

It is also the furthest south western point of Africa, where the warm Mozambique current of the Indian Ocean meets the cold Benguela current of the Atlantic. This makes a significant impact on all forms of marine life in the vicinity and on the fauna and flora of the Peninsula.
