| The Cape Point Nature Reserve was proclaimed in 1939. It covers approximately 9480 unspoiled hectares, and has 40 km of South African coast line under its management.

To reach the Phyillisia is a further and more challenging walk. It is on the point called "Hoek van Bobbejaan" (Direct English translation: "Hook of the Monkey").
The Lusitania unfortunately happened a long time ago and has since been lost, but is one of the most heroic shipwreck stories about Cape Point.
