Dear Jack & Ryan,

Just to clarify one detail, Dylan Goodwin has nothing at all to do with the
CPNP website. His company is contracted by Concor, Peninsula Tourism and the
CPNP to run the e-mail service from Cape Point, and the images that he has
designed (and has authorised you to use) are related only to that service,
not to our website ( www.cpnp.co.za <http://www.cpnp.co.za> ).

That said, I don't have any serious problems with your using CPNP imagery
and text, provided (a) that it is made clear to viewers of your site that it
is not the CPNP site, but your version of it, (b) that you acknowledge your
sources and indicate that the material is copyright to the CPNP or to
Immersive Technologies (as the case may be), and (c) that you do not change
the substance or meaning of any text you may reproduce - to ensure this I
would like to see your site before it goes public. The reason for the last
stipulation is that no matter how clear you make it that it is not the
"real" CPNP site, there are people out there who will still misunderstand,
and who will come down on us like a ton of bricks if you inadvertently say
something contentious.

On that basis I will recommend to Dr Siddo that SANP grants you permission.
Let me know what you think.

Regards,

Steve Hulbert

Dear Mr Hulbert

Thank you for replying so soon!

Regarding your questions. Our site will only be hosted and accessed via the
Thinkquest servers and will not at all be marketed to the public except
through the thinkquest site. Our website will say that it was created as
part of the competition with links etc.
We also suggest you visit the Thinkquest site. www.thinkquest.org
<http://www.thinkquest.org>
It is a competition for students between the ages 12 and 19. Our school
computer studies teacher is also involved as our coach and in judging of the
competition. She can be contacted at pmiller@phs.wcape.school.za
<mailto:pmiller@phs.wcape.school.za>
The competition has very strict rules and one part of this is the copyright
and permission of info, content and illustrations.

In connection with the permission given by the Web designer. He actually
designed he pictures etc for Cape Point and we are in direct contact with
him.
This is what he said...

"With regards to "Copyright" i am providing these images to you, in the
confidence that
the Ipix will be used "only" for the non-profit project it is intended for.
No unauthorized
or Commercial use of the images will be permitted."

His name is Dylan Goodwin and his details as follows:
Immersive Technologies cc
"Future Imaging"
Cape Town, South Africa
http://www.qtpro.co.za <http://www.qtpro.co.za>

I hope this sets everything straight.

Yours sincerely
Jack Thonissen and Ryan Ballantyne
