Development: The young insects hatch 4 to 6 months after the eggs were laid. They shed their skin for the last time after a further 5 to 6 months. The females then live for up to 2 years.
Habitat: These quite small ghost insects live in low vegetation in the rain forest.
Special features: This is one of the smallest ghost insects that there is. An unusual feature in the females is that the lower body below the last pair of legs is blown up like a balloon, but towards the end is thinner. The males can be either red or green.
Keeping and breeding: Epidares nolimetangere can be kept at a temperature of 25° C, you justhave to be careful that the relative humidity is between 85 and 95%.
