Development: This species is one that only lives for a few short time. Unfortunately I don’t have any exact figures.
Habitat: -
Special features: Asceles spec. inserts its eggs into the suface of a leaf, with the help of the small, sharp point found on the end of each egg. If you run your finger along the back of the leaf, you can feel that the point has gone right through to the other side. This species has a very short lifespan.
Keeping and breeding: I have never been able to find any information on how to keep this type of phasmid. I keep them in a gauze covered terrarium and spray them with water about three times per week. If you have to replace the Rhododendren leaves, you can remove the leaves and put them on the ground. You can also place a fern fond in the terrarium and the insects will prefer to lay their eggs on that.
