In Memory of Harry Blackstone Jr.

The most interesting thing that I ever read about Harry Blackstone was about a famous and interesting trick of his. It came became more interesting when something unexpected accrued. The trick starts by having an assistant bring out a lamp connected to an outlet. Blackstone takes out the light bulb. It is still glowing and will for the rest of the trick. The bulb then floats and goes through a ring. It then flies above the audience. It then bounces back to Blackstone. One time somebody grabbed the light bulb and headed for the door. He was stopped and Blackstone was still able to make it fly back to him. This trick was made by his father and Blackstone improved it. Also, this trick is said to be known by no more than three people. Another interesting act was part of Blackstones childhood. His father would do a trick where he would make a live canary and its cage disappear. Then he would ask the audience join. Several children would come. Then Blackstone father would have the kids put their hands on then cage to cover it up. When they took their hands off the canary disappeared! It was Harry Blackstones job to look under his dads tail coat. Then his dad would say have we ever meet before. And it was Harrys job to say "no daddy." Harry Blackstone was born in 1934 in three Rivers, Mich. His favorite tricks were the vanishing bird cage, floating light bulb, dancing handkerchief, giant buzz saw cutting a woman in two.

Harry Blackstone died May 14 1997 as one of the best magicians in the world
