The Atomic Bomb. Three words rarely have such unspoken meaning. Since its creation the world has never and will never be the same. Many focus on the destruction it caused, rather than the life it brought forth. With all forces there is a good and an evil. A Yin and a Yang. The Atomic Bomb birthed a new age of technology and discovery, from which many fields of science has benefited, including that of medicine. As we educate ourselves as to how this wondrous discovery came about, we hear stories of brilliant scientists working in top secret laboratories. However, this is only half the story. Men and women around the country left their families and homes in a leap of faith to contribute to such a massive undertaking. These men and women were the unknown force behind the scientists. This website tells the untold story of two machinists whom shaped the uranium and plutonium needed for the Los Alamos exepirements, the Trinity Test, and the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombs. Without their contribution along side hundreds of others' the Atomic Bomb may have never have been created.
