Particles fasters that
the Light?
First we are going
to give some general considerations about the theory of relativity,
which was developed by Albert Einstein.
Einstein said that the behaviour of matter at velocities near to the velocity
of Light is different, because the distances are shorter, the times
are bigger and the matter approaches to the infinite.
According to the relativity theory:
- The mechanics of the particles that are near the velocity
of Light is something different from Newton’s mechanics.
- The concepts of space and time are related between
them.
- It is impossible for a particle to have a velocity
faster that the velocity of Light in a void.
Let’s
discuss the last point. Einstein considered the last point to be
fundamental to the theory of relativity. Recently, a discovery
was made that could change the entire theory of relativity. This
discovery was that electromagnetic waves can obtain a velocity greater
than that of Light. Now the question remains, What is the effect
of this? Does this find destroy the theory of relativity? There
haven’t been very many studies on this yet, and there isn’t much
information available, so we still don’t know. The Institute that
had made this discovery is a University of California..
Discuse about this.
