Sparking Rain
Be careful! Rain can cause sparks! One report from 1892 from Cordova, Spain, states that a thunderstorm brought huge drops of “electrical rain.” Each one, after touching the ground or another surface gave a small cracking sound and “emitted a spark of light.” Scientists believe that lightning charges the raindrops during such electrical storms.
